Drivers' Corner - Layover CB Shop

The big gets bigger and the CB consumer has less and less choices.

It all started when Barjan bought Wilson antennas. You know who Barjan is. In most truck stops the CB stuff you see hanging on the wall is provided by them. Diesel-Eagle products is one of their acquisitions. As with all marketing companies, when they acquired Wilson antenna, they soon started marketing a line of Wilson mounts and other goodies.

The smart CB customer will notice that the Wilson accessories look amazingly like the other stuff on the wall--only more expensive. Look carefully and you can save a lot of money.

Now Barjan has bought CTI Audio, and who is CTI Audio? You know them as Astatic. The 626L noise-canceling microphone is perhaps best known to drivers. And, you guessed it; the wholesale price just went up. You know what that means. You are going to pay more for your next microphone.

David Able Sales is the competitor of Barjan. Most of their products are sold under the Road Pro label. It appears they bought K40 antenna and have released a large number of products under that label. They also gobbled up Antron antenna, makers of the best omni directional antenna for base stations and some really good antenna sticks for trucks.

Where am I going with this? I just thought you should all know. An informed consumer is a wise buyer and the driver will end up with more money in his pocket at the end of the month.
