Family Center - Hook Me Up

In February of this year my son, SPC. Micheal Phillips, was killed in action in Iraq. He was with the 101st Airborne out of Ft. Campbell Kentucky. One of the ways I am coping with this loss is to continue to care for the men of his company. I have to celebrate him and his service as well as mourn him. So this month, I am giving you all links to organizations that support our service men and women. I hope that you will take the time to use one of these links to thank a soldier, marine, airman, or sailor for their service.

Soldier Angels
Soldier Angels' motto is "Let no soldier go unloved." They have programs for everyone to do their share. From writing cards to baking cookies to adopting a soldier, there is some way for you to tell a soldier they are supported and thought of. This organization has been wonderful to us.

Wounded Warriors Project
This organization helps provide items and care for soldiers who have been injured in action. Something as simple as a backpack helps a soldier. We set up a memorial fund with them in our son's name.

Any Soldier
Want to send a care package? Don't know what to send or who to send it to? This is the place to find the answers.

Books For Soldiers

When the men and women of the services have down time they are very limited in their entertainment. Books are a wonderful gift.

Operation Happy Note
Music is one thing we all find peace and joy in. Send a musical instrument to a soldier. Saxophones, trumpets and keyboards are in high demand. Can you help bring music to a soldier?

Let's Say Thanks

Xerox Cooperation has provided a site that offers you a chance to send a card to a soldier. Pick a design, type a message, and send. They will print them out and deliver them. Take 5 minutes and send a card to a soldier.

Fisher House

Fisher House provides housing for families near military hospitals while injured soldiers are rehabilitating.

America Supports You

Not sure which organization to trust? This is a site that will help make sure your efforts make it to our troops. They also offer a free email link to troops.
