How's My Driving? Dial 1-800-...
Truckers are giving a lot of guff when it comes to driving. I always hear people saying, "Did you see that truck? Shouldn't they slow down" or "He almost hit me? Why isn't he watching the road?" People always find some compliant about truckers to blame them for hazardous driving. This makes truckers' very angry and upset that they are not receiving the credit that they worked hard for.
Think about it this way: truckers' have more recorded driving hours than most anyone else on the road and live by the rules of the road, unlike the rest of people. When slanderous comments are thrown around the highway, it aggravates drivers because of their commitment and experience.
Truckers are often blamed when accidents occur, but statistics show that this blame is often misplaced. Drivers of other types of vehicles are involved in more accidents annually than are the combination of all truckers on the road:
| Crash Type | Large Trucks | All Vehicles |
| Fatal | 4,321 | 38,588 |
| Injury | 77,000 | 1,746,000 |
| Property Damage Only | 287,000 | 4,189,000 |
| Total | 368,000 | 5,974,000 |
Interesting! Be sure to pass it on, and always keep an eye out for those crazy drivers!
