Hello everyone
i'm going for my cdl I have just started studying the manual. i have been doing a lot of research on different companies that hire newbies so far i have made up my mind on wakins and sheppard as they seem to be the sanest out of all the evils cr England werner swifty. i'm wondering if theres any books that i should buy other than a truckers atlas such as rules and regs load securement that kind of thing. will i need a cb once i'm out there? what will my first year be like out on the road what can i expect? and if i get an idling ticket can i fight it or would i be better off ****ing it up and paying it? and has anyone been through Watkins and sheppard orientation if so whats it like what do they discuss and do they put you on a simulator?

Ok I am sure you guys have heard this a million times but here goes anyway...


I left trucking in 06 after my year contract I agreed to for my training, I had some family issues to attend to.

I want to get back into a truck but without recent experience I am hitting a brick wall it seems no none does refresher courses and I really don't want to pay to go through another school.


Any companies out there that either do refreshers or "IF" I have to go through school again it won't be out of pocket, I have no problem staying a year or whatever.

Still have my CDL class A spotless MVR and no criminal history.

And advice would be appreciated and thank you for your time.
