Default Child Support

I have been in a discussion on another BBoard about this issue and I thought I would share some information I found out from the state concerning suspending CDL's.

The state can request a hearing to suspend a CDL license if:
the non-custodial parent misses 3 consecutive payments or if the non-custodial parent is in the arrearages more than $2200.

Just thought I would stir the pot and get some opinions flying.

I will hold off until a few replies are made, then post my opinion on this.

Well let me piss off a few deadbeats out there (male or female) and say, hell yes, do whatever it takes to rattle the cages of these worthless assholes. I've seen animals exhibit more parental responsibility than some of these deadbeats!

I don't receive one penny from my X for child support however I would never do anything that would take away or interfere with his ability to make a living. He doesn't work steady due to a disability but I am sure that he does ok for himself. It's my choice, don't want the hassel, the courts, etc., & I'm managing ok without him. I know that this is not the norm & many are suffering due to non-support. But isn't it ironic, if you suspend a license the ability to pay is also being cut off. Keep the license, keep the person working & attach the wages.

Some of you are coming accross a little tough. Sometimes circumstances cause the non-custodial parent to fall in the arrearages.

Take the CDL away, they get further behind in cs payments, then eventually wind up in prison. While they are in prison the cs payments continue to acrew. What a senario, but hey it is the truth.

My idea has always been for the states to create a work camp. If they are going to throw someone in jail for not paying child support put them in a work camp instead. They can't get out until they have worked off their arrearages.

His Girl,
Good point! I don't understand the logic of removing a professional license from a wage earner for failure to make support payments. Concur with attachment.
Non-custodial parents should be stand-up enough to meet their commitments without court intervention. Ah, but that would be a perfect world.

There is one problem with attachment-job hopping. It takes several months for the state to catch up with the non-custodial parent's current employer and when they do, there are alot that....just find another job.

Default childsupport

True that taking away a persons CDL will cause them to fall even further behind BUT there is a hearing to decide if it is removed. If the circusmstances are that the parent hit a rough spot and has always before made the payments then it is likely the CDL will not be removed. If however the person is a true deadbeat and just won't take responsiblity and isjumping from job to job to avoid attachments then the CDL will be removed.

And removed, it should be! If somebody doesn't care enuff to provide some finacial care to those s/he "screwed into the world," then I don't want that worthless excuse for a human being on the road with me! What else won't s/he care about? My safety? Yours? Others? And as for cutting off their source of income, let him or her take a minimum wage job somewhere!
