Default Help with DOT Physical..

Was wondering if there are height/weight
charts for DOT Physical? If so are they online?

How difficult is the hearing test?

Default Height/weight?

Are you kidding? Have you seen how many lard-a$$es there are in this business? Passing a DOT physical is about the easist thing in the world to do.

Hearing test? Another joke.

Bottom line...if you are breathing, have a heartbeat, and are able to walk through the Dr.'s door, chances are good that you'll find somebody that will pass you on the DOT physical!

Default Height / Weight chart

Will be driving for a government agency so they will probably go by the book, if there is a Height / Weight chart I sure would like to know the maximum a 55 year old could weigh at 6' 4" ?

Default There are none..

There is no weight and height requirement. So long as your feet can touch the pedals, and you can see over the steering wheel. A government agency? That would qualify you as falling under the disabilty act, if your feet won't touch the pedals, or you can't see over the wheel. You might be able to sit on a phone book, and strap some blocks to your shoes. The weight? As long as you can pull yourself up into the tractor, you'll be fine. Hearing? I'm 25% deaf in one ear, and I passed. Very seldom do you get a hearing test on a DOT physical.

Default Government agency.

The only time I saw a height or weight requirement for a government agency driving job is at the entrance to one of their rides. Oops, that's for a circus/carnival, sorry.

You will have no worries, we have the government by the balls with worries of discrimination charges so you probably don't even need to know how to drive or walk! Let alone too porky.

Default Thanks guys..

Thanks for all the tips, would like to hear more on the hearing test though. Understand most clinics don't have an electronic hearing tester where they put you in a closed, sound proof box. Understand that most places use the whisper technique of a forced whisper at 5 feet while standing somewhat behind.

Default Hearing tests...

I don't think that is a DOT requirement, only a company requirement. Out of all the DOT physicals I've had, only one sat me in a room to listen to the little beeps. You hear the beep, then you press a button. That's how I found out that I'm 25% deaf in one ear. If it is a DOT requirement, then I guess if you can hear the doctor tell you to drop them and cough, then you passed the hearing test.

Default ....

I did my physical about a month ago...I look like a poster child for crop failure and I passed.(6'2-155)You know, now that I think about it,they did no hearing test..She wrote down that I passed but it was a noisy office so maybe she knew I couldn't hear a forced whisper anyway...It went rather quickly so I was happy with that...Checked my eyes, had me bend over like to touch my toes, and she had me run in place for one minute to see what my heart rate was after exercise...Don't worry, unless you have really bad eyes or have high blood pressure, you will pass....
