Default McElroy Trucking

Can anyone tell me anything about McElroy Trucking Co. I will graduate from trucking school on the 26th of this month and have a pre-hire with them and am scheduled to go to orientation on the 29th if this it the company I want to go with. I have other pre-hires with other companies, but I am leaning to McElroy. Thanks Don

I have been told they have the best training for a newby and that it is easier to go to van from flatbed than the other way around. I've had several truckers in this area tell me if I go through their training I will have good companies begging me to work for them. I am new so I want the best training I can get including safety, safety, safety.

I have never heard any negatives about McElroy. You will get plenty of flatbed training there. It is easy to switch to vans but if you have been pulling a van and have no flatbed experience any reputable carrier will insist that you complete a load securement course before going on the road with a flatbed.

Most of your loads will be wood products and steel. Heavy loads and lots of tarping but you have to start somewhere. McElroy is a small family type company and that is a refreshing change from the mega-giants (Swift, Schneider, Werner)

Yep...I would say McElroy is a good choice. Just wanted to know what attracted you to them instead of the big boys.
