Default Would like some advise......

I am considering going to TDI in Florida for schooling, and then to either KLLM or USXpress to start my career. I've done my homework on both companies, but I know that I can only believe so much of what the company and the recruiters tell you. I was hoping to get some drivers' comments regarding my choices. Since I'm female and married, this is definately a huge step for me, and I want to be sure I'm going with the best compny. Of course, pay and benefits are a big priority, but home time and the reputation of the company are big factors as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Default Check this website...

Though I'm not female, I know the boat your in. I'm married with a family and need to train and find a good company as well.

I thought I'd done my homework as well, but I found a website at www.realdrivers.com that has real experiences and opinions of several carriers and schools. If you're considering TDI, you need to take a look at that site. I think you'll be enlightened by some of the experiences of the drivers posting there.

I would also encourage you to check out www.pumpkindriver.com. I'm not a Schneider driver, but they do have a good newbie forum there with training logs of drivers that went through the Schneider training and their first few weeks on the road. I think it will give you a good idea of what to expect pretty much anywhere you go as a new driver.

I was considering going to Schneider for the free training, but I'm somewhat leary of the one year commitment afterward, but it's an option. I may just go to my local community college for their 6 week course. I just called them today, and they will train me test me on the written and on the road for $700. One stop shopping--sounds pretty good to me. You may want to see what local colleges in your area offer training and what they offer, and if their reputation is any good.

Hope some of this helps you,

Colyn
