Heya Layover Pals. It's been over a year (I think) since I've even visited Layover. Life is crazy busy. Joellyroll and I have a lot going on these days and I have been concentrating on finishing my B.A. One more semester to go and I will officially me edumacated
It's been a long haul, that's for sure. The funny thing is....I still would drive if circumstances were different.Let's see ---- nothing much has changed. I'm just living in Washington now, so I'm hardly a Georgia Girl anymore, but I guess I will forever wear that identity. Just like Aftershock will always be Aftershock (smile Aftershock....). I have a guv-ment job (sorta) with General Dynamics. Our company deploys with the military when they head off to war zones. The communications systems is just that - they go and set up servers, computer equipment and the whole nine yards. I actually got to hold a handheld PDA-type device that launches missiles from the ground. Pretty cool actually. I never realized that war is so friggin' high tech. I don't think war will ever be like the Vietnam type.....not after seeing some of the equipment we have. Too bad out government won't do more....but that's another debate. My job is due to end in December, but I may go permanent. I was a bit scared that it wouldn't go permanent because I am not willing to go to Iraq or Afghanistan at this point in my life. Although...once again....if circumstances were different I would. But things are changing where I am and I could be a permanent employee at the first of the year. We'll just have to wait and see for sure. I have enjoyed the heck out of life and it couldn't be better. Just think, if it wasn't for Layover, I wouldn't have met the best hubby ever (I know mush, mush). So how is everyone else. What have I missed, anything? I think Layover is like the soap opera Days of Our Lives. You can miss 6 months of episodes and jump right in and know what in the heck is going on. Not a good sign, huh? Actually, I've thought about you over the months.....I've just got other priorities as I try to totally transition out of trucking altogether. Hugs to all. (MWAH to all my pals!) Georgia Girl (My heart is in Washington now!)

HeY! Sometimes I think I'd rather be AfterShock than who I think I really am. Besides, comparing Georgia to Washington is like comparing peaches to apples. And if I'm not mistaken, they even go well together. What's not to like? Quote:

It's hard to improve on perfection. Why even attempt to do the unnecessary? Gotta say one thang ---- we're consistent. Quote:
Are you sure you really want to? Quote:
And God bless that heart. ![]() ![]()

That makes more sense. I was wondering why Joel would be saying "Hi?"
Being that close to finishing your degree has got to be a great feeling. What the heck did you major in? Hint: People will doubt this - Quote:
