Hi Kenny,

Nice to see that you're still alive.

But training!! Man, that's nerve-wracking stuff, especially for the first few days.

Juno aka Ike aka Mike

Howdy,Mike..Yep,still alive and well.Especially since I gave up the smokes!Took a few tries but I guess with a few months under my belt this time around,I think quitting finally stuck ..

Just to avoid any confusion,Mike,I'm not an OTR trainer..I'm an instructor at a driving school/ large trucking company in Utah. No,it's not England!

We take rookies who've never been in a truck before, teach them to back up,shift gears, make turns etc..All to get them ready to test out and be put with a trainer. Most make it through, some don't and we send them home...

I think,in some ways,it's even more harrowing than being a trainer..At least by the time the trainer gets them, they've been on the highway a few times..

I'm the guy that takes them on the highway for the first time!

I enjoy the work,it's kinda fun teaching the rookies, and best of all,it gets me home everynight. So,far, I've avoided sleeping in a truck for 3 years now!

9 years was enough..
