Very good question, and my GUESS would be yes – it probably is safe for you to fill out an application. On the other hand, nonsense is happening on this site that I never would have believed could... until it did. So... who knows?

Perhaps the better question would be “do I want to hand out any personal information to an outfit so irresponsible and low rent as Layover?” There are plenty of other trucking sites which have “shotgun” applications, likely going to the same companies as the ones here are sent. I think if I were in your shoes, I'd try one or more of those venues first. Just my opinion - and worth every penny I charge for it.

I would not release my S.S.N to any website that was not secured (https top of page) and even then..all sites, including the Pentagon's, are subject to hacking.

I tend to agree with the posters above and I'd be hesitant to post personal information on Layover today. I felt different in the past but lately, this website just cannot get it's act together. Your personal information could wind up in China and that's not a good thing. Look elsewhere.
