Default Just a Reminder

I spoke to a friend of mine last night and he told me this story;

They are a team and travel with a minpin..Harley. He is the half brother to our little guy Booder.

On one of their stops they did laundry and he threw his bag up on the top bunk..they also had work done on the truck engine at the same time.

It was his bunk time so she drove. He noticed a funny smell but thought it was the result of the work they had done. When it was his drive time he opened the curtain and put Harley in the bunk while they changed drivers..he noticed the smell was stronger but after looking around came to the conclusion it was something to do with the new engine work. They went down the road.

Not too long later the curtain opens and she says the dog has retched on the foot of the bed, pull over so she can clean it up. He does, she does and the dog retches on her pillow...by this time she's commenting on the smell of burning leaves because the odor is getting very strong..but after another search nothing is found.

They go down the road...Harley starts to shiver and doesn't stop, she gets worried...tells him about Harley's behavior. The smell is getting stronger, he rolls down the window and clears the cabin...it fills with smell each time. He pulls over.

He starts to tear down the things in the upper bunk...throws his clean laundry bag on the jump seat...notices a flame, unzips it and flames about 10 inches high erupt with the air..a brand new pair of jeans are on fire...out the window they go...

As they drive away he said the jeans were completely on fire on the side of the road.

Hero Harley!!!! He saved them.

Remember not to put anything close to those lights on the upper bunk people...they get hot.

Daaang kj....about the time you gained my total respect for your wisdom..you come up with some "straight talk express" like this !!!!

As a 13 year "professional fire fighter"..I strongly suspect little "Harley" was smoking (a joint ) in bed !!.

Ya think? He said his bag was all melted and two other pair of jeans were damaged but wearable...scary stuff..if the dog hadn't done all that the truck may have caught on fire and been one of those you see all too often sitting on the white line...at least what's left of them..

Oh, and after he found the fire and took care of it, the dog stopped the shivering...pretty amazing.

They've been on the road a long time so you can bet, they will be REAL careful about things stored in the top bunk.

I'll have to remember that one to tease him....I also need to ask him if they run with the upper bunk lights on or maybe they have so much stuff up there they were on but no one knew...somehow the bag got up tight to a light up there.
