We could give you a list of regional/local companies running the I5 corridor but the trick would be to find one that would "treat drivers right". Those kind are hard to find.

I would rather eat a pound of sh it than be a company driver again. It's going to be my way or not at all...thats how I operate.

Maybe my associate Steerbum will be along shortly and can give you better insight about this area than I.

Thankyou for the feedback on my post from 07/04/10.Am sure of this, that whatever company i may hookup with will be same old bs,more or less.am trying to get with company (I-5 corridor only)that can do least damage to me.My record is spotless, but nobody (driver)is immune from grief.actualy wanted to stay local(portland/metro area),but what you want and what you Need to do are two different scenerios! No Hzmt, hate that stuff, pain in the *** to deal with.Hauled it before, want no more of it.As far as being retrained,i travel Solo.Have put in too many miles/yrs to have 2nd party play that game with me.Refresh on new dot rules helpful,so am open to moderate input.your recommendations are very much appreciated and from BJ too.Wish i had o/o creds and $$$$ to gamble with that option, but with this Economy all sideways, not my best option.SOOOO,company driver it is.Am chkg out TWT,Interstate, and several others.Am going to check out Gordon too.Am 57yrs old, thank god i'm still in shape and agile.Have apt here in Portland, pay $800 pr/mo for rent/utilities.Don't want to stay OTR or even 11western and put out that income to never get Quality tm off.SOOOO,got my work cut out for me.Thankyou both for assist.Be safe and make bank.Thankyou

Am I reading this right?

You havent driven in a year.

You havent driven otr for five years.

You dont want to take any training.

You dont want to bother with hazmat.

You just want a good job with a good company that will hand you the keys and send you where you want to go, and treat you right.

Alls I can tell you is when you wake up from this dream......... youre going to have to pee.

Not saying i don't have my work cutout. But i did do OR/ID/WA even after coming off the road in o5.All my otr exp was every state except maine.Every company out there has Orientation to go through to acclimate new drivers and qualify them,as they should!Am not going out for $300-$500 pr/wk like some trainee has to.My average stay out while driving OTR was approx 9-14 wks before tm off, most of the time it was my call to stay out that long.Drove every winter, ect. As a local driver i learned that it is more taxing and laborious than otr.SOOOO,after 15yrs combined ,think i haqve it dn by now.Appreciate your comments either way.Just looking to run I-5 corridor for now.As for no more HZMT,dropped my endorsement in 02/09.Up til then always had it,and pulled my fair shair of that ****.No more. It's good to get feedback either pro or con.Open to possibly Or/WA/CA/AZ running.Local jobs here in Portland are pretty much shot due to economy and socialist gvmt idiots running Oregon into the ground. But seriously, understand where you're coming from.Have to wait and go with the flow???Be safe out there and good luck to you.

Mesika, have you applied with some trucking companies and are you getting any nibbles? I think it would be easier to see who will hire you first and then proceed to narrow the companies down to the ones who "treat drivers right"... You might even try dropping into Jubitz and buttonholing a driver or two from your short list of companies.

With your experience and record, I think you're worrying needlessly about them "treating you right" if you ask the right questions before you hire on...

We wish you BOL.
