Is that what you are registered for or is that your actual weight?

Yes, you may use the Ohio Tpk but you will need a special permit which will be pricey. For more info go the Ohio Turnpike website at www.ohioturnpike.org

No. They will not let you on. Don't try. Big fine. But something tells me you are pulling our leg with your posts.

I agree...probabably a setup but the username, kittykath, is pretty clever, I think.

I don't remember ever hauling heavy across the Oh Pike but hauled permited oversize across Ohio many times.

At one time, I hauled five sucsessive oversize boxes, using a lowboy trailer, containing racks for supporting fuel rods, from north of Pittsburgh to nuclear plants in Northern Illinois.

One load was 14 ft high and if I remember right , one was 14 ft wide...they were ALL at least 12 ft wide.

The racks were "clean" going to Illinois but "dirty"...radio-active placarded ...going back to Pa.

The interesting thing, to me, was none of the permitted load routes across Ohio and Indiana boondocks were ever the same either going or coming.

None of them permitted me across the Indiana or Ohio Pikes.

I realize that you are long gone but where are the weigh stations on the Ohio turnpike? I don't recall any. Rand McNally can be your friend.

Also, if you're 13K overgross, what possessed to to take that load?

Another dyckhead reflection :

Another driver from my company and I, loaded twin 95,000 lb. permitted loads in s.w. Pa. S. of I-70 headed for Norfolk. Va.

I took the lead.

We had to travel 2 lane, hilly roads in Pa.before getting on the very hilly I-68 in Maryland.

While still in Pa. , he became impatient with my use of transmission and jake on the down hills...resting my brakes as much as possible.

After awhile, seeing a wide spot ahead, he told me to pull over...he was going around me...I did and he did..and was soon out of site from me.

It wasn't 'til I reached the Cumberland scales did I see him again.

The fool literally had right side trailer tandems, tires flaming, not noticing them when he pulled on the scales.

They had quickly rushed him off, of course and he had parked on the shoulde of the scale exit ramp when I arrived on the scene.

I parked in order to do what I could to help the poor anguished dude that said the F.D. had been called and poured a couple of buckets of kitty litter on the flames, knocking them down and left , allowing the F.D. to use their water to extinguish the burning embers that were once tires....and wanting not to be involved in the mess.

There was another similar load that left that shipper.

The receiver told me of the three, I was the only one that made it through.

Yes..I know something about the difference between dyckheads and professionals.

I don't know about the buckeye, but Pa will bust dat azz if you crawl up onto the turnpike heavy. They'll let you get right on up there and ride, but when you go to pay the toll, you better have your banker ridin shotgun.
