Her on one side and a crazy driver jumping up on the other side of the truck! He has a gun in his hand waving it at all of us. Scream at her to run for the building, we couldn't budge we were frozen. She runs inside and calls the cops on him, holly ****! He is screaming at us waving the gun, were just hoping he doesn't do something stupid. We don't know exactly what is going on and why this guy has gone crazy, or even why a truck driver is doing with a loaded weapon on a TRUCK! He finally gets off of our truck and takes off, we are just relieved that he isn't waving the gun at us anymore! We are ready to take off when we realize that our air lines had been cut! The cops are there searching for the driver, find him and escort him away from the truck stop and out of town! OK! HOLD ON A MINUTE! YOUR NOT GOING TO ARREST HIM! WTF! They couldn't arrest him because he ditched the gun and they couldn't find it! The cops told us that the woman was fine, and that she was being held against her will with the truck driver. IDK what the real situation was however, we were both still in shock from having a gun waved in faces! All we wanted to do was leave, but that wasn't going to happen until we got our truck fixed and the air lines repaired! ****!
Wow! I would have been irate too. I'm no lawyer but from what you posted I'd say the Indy cops who responded were either lazy, incompetent or getting near the end of their shift and just wanted to kiss the incident off. There is no doubt in my mind that the screaming jerk who jumped on your truck committed a crime, most likely brandishing a firearm or assault. They had two victims (you and your trainee) who thought they were threatened with a firearm and that's all they needed to nail the guy. The fact that the guy ditched the weapon is immaterial.

Also, if the woman stated that she was held against her will they had kidnapping. Sheesh!

At a minimum, they could have torn his truck apart looking for the weapon and arrested him even if they found nothing. Depending upon where the truck was parked, maybe they could have impounded it.

Even if the guy could have beaten the charges in court at a later date, he would have been arrested (nice for his record), had to make bail, gone through attorney hassles, maybe had to pay for the tow and impound and lost several days pay in the process. Most likely it would have cost him his job and trucking career. Sometimes dumba$$es think they have beaten the cops and won in court but they lose in life. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Personally, I don't get why any driver feels compelled to carry firearms in trucks. It is flat stupid. They need to grow a pair or seek a different kind of job. What part of this law don't they understand???

Hey, Larry, (Jason),Bradley, Scott

Try not to lose your since of humor, because most of what you will read here is BS
I liked the story,it was interesting up to the part where the air lines was cut,and you never said he had a knife, besides why would he do that if he was after the girl?
You didn't do anything to him, as you and your companion just sat there like a couple of scared rabbits

Cussing people out is not what we do here, so maybe you should move on.
