Default I HAVE A GRIPE!!

Why are so many women drivers so rude to other women drivers? It's not like I want to "invade" on their territory or even attempt to act like a better driver. But yesterday, I encountered two women drivers, both with different companies and both RUDER than any man I have ever encountered.

I expect bad behavior from men, but somehow I feel that "us" women should hold ourselves to a higher standard than our male counterparts. Men are "expected" to cuss, talk dirty, etc. In addition, I sort of (although I shouldn't), expect men to act rude, impatient, and nasty to other drivers from time to time.

But women???? I guess I hold myself and other women to a higher standard and I'm not sure why.

What do you think? Am I the only one experiencing this behavior from other women truck drivers? Have any of you heard the filth that comes out of some of those women's mouths? Have you seen or heard some of the VENOM that ****some**** women spew out to other women drivers?

But at least once a day, maybe more (like yesterday), I encounter a couple of women who are rude, inconsiderate, and just plain nasty to other drivers--both male and female. But yesterday a female told me to "get the "F***" out of HER way while I was climbing a hill IN THE SLOW LANE with a 79,000 pound load on the back. When I didn't pull to the shoulder like SHE EXPECTED me to, (it would have been dangerous and besides, I was behind another slow truck going 35 mph up the same hill) she called me every curse word in the book. I just ignored her and turned the volume down on the CB rather than fight with her. Eventually she got around the slow trucks, but NOONE was going fast enough UP THE HILL for her.

The other lady was flying down I-81 doing about 80 mph with it pouring down rain and traffic flowing about 55-60 mph due to the weather. She was zig-zagging in and out of traffic blowing her air horn at anyone who slowed her down. ANYONE who got in her way got a cussing-out including men or women. At one point she had followed my trailer so close that I know I couldn't have gotten my size 8 show between her bumper and my truck. I was in the slow lane staying with the traffic flow. After about 15 minutes of this nonsense, I got on the CB and told her that I was going to slow down and put on the brakes so that she could get around me because I was tired of her being on my rear-end. Of course that sent her into an oblivion of foul language. I politely let her around me and she got right up next to me and rode beside me for about 2 or 3 minutes slowing down as I slowed down, etc. because she was flipping me off, cussing at me on the CB, etc. I let her see that I was turning the CB to the "OFF" position. She had all the trucks and traffic around us slowing down and of course all the men were hollering, "CAT FIGHT"....which was just encouraging her behavior. I eventually took an exit ramp to get her away from me, but was so PO'ed I was shaking from head to toe. I pulled off the ramp and sat there for a minute or two while I calmed down. Not only was she driving dangerously, but she was a lunatic as well.

Am I alone in seeing or experiencing this or what?

Just curious.

Default female drivers

I have on occassion run into rude ladies talking trash and complaining about all other drivers but on the whole I find the other women just ignore each other. I went out for 2 weeks just recently and it appeared there were fewer women on the road but maybe I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. 90% of the time the cb is off so maybe I just wasn't hearing all the bs. Ignorance can be bliss!

Default danger ahead...

gg, you did the right thing by getting off on the ramp and getting away from that dangerous driver. why didn't you call 911 and report her??I would have. Anyway, a lady truck driver from IWX caused my driver to wreck our truck becasue IWX was going way too fast on snow and ice and IWX sideswiped my truck and caused massive damage to my truck. All other trucks on highway were going 15-20 mph and this hot headed female driver was going way too fast for road conditions. So, now when I see hot headed drivers male or female, I dial 911 nad report them. You all be careful

Default driving

GG are you back on the road now? Did you leave your other job or are you doing this on the side? Hope the rest of the drivers out there are polite and professional. I'd like to believe they are the silent majority.

Default On the side...

It's a long story, but yes, I am driving now, but not for long.

There were some changes at my other job and things weren't working out and I went back driving for financial reasons. I simply couldn't take a cut in pay and I sure didn't want to live off of unemployment.

However, I have since found out that my job may come back open the first of the year and they want me back. Sooooo, who knows? I'm just taking it one day at a time right now not making any quick decisions.

I hate being back on the road. Hate it. It's worked out to my benefit because I think I have finally realized just HOW MUCH I hate being gone all the time.

i've been out here for awhile and i have found most of the people out here are good people. stress, time commitments, clueless dispatchers, make life more interesting. we need more women out here. show up some of these SUPERTRUCKERS. stay the course and feel free to ask if you need support. i think it's great you decided to drive trucks take care

Default rude women

I too have heard the filth that comes from the mouth of these women. They think they have to be tough and rugged like men just because they are truckers. I do wish they would learn again that they are women and giving us a bad name. I myself do not use nasty words on the CB and won't argue with anyone of these neanderthals that think they have to be tough just to be a trucker. I am still the soft nice woman I was before I started trucking. I don't want men to think I am some rugged male counterpart in a woman's body. I wish we could change some of those women. I see some in the truck stops that you cannot tell if they are male or female unless you really look. They are dirty and sound like men, but whoops they use the womens room. You just have to ignore these women, they aren't worth your time or effort. Know that there are some good women out there just like there are good men in trucking too. Not all are fat dirty slobs who talk like sailors, some of us stay women behind the wheel. Hope this helps. Ladytigger

Default Rude Behavior

I have been in the electronics field for over 20 years as an inspector and noticed that these RUDE women are that way because they have deep-seated issues. LOL!!!! I am currently a small package courier now...until I get my CDL and have learned to ignore them - especially on the Interstate roads.
