Default Need info about Schneider

Can anyone tell me about Schneider National. I spoke with recruiter and I want to know if she was being honest when she said the freight was 98% no touch and lumpers are available the other 2% of the time. I am concerned because I lift more than about 50 pounds. Can I still be a trucker if I can't lift 70 lbs. I am planning to attend a local truck driving school soon and I don't want to waste my time if I won't be able to land a job afterward.

Default schneider

I have heard from many that schneider has the best school to start with. I have been driving for 5 years and really haven't had to lift too much other than my coffee mug to my mouth. Of course I drive team which I prefer and he does all that I cannot do. I only weigh 135 and probably cannot lift more than 50 lbs. If you find the right company you won't have to lift at all once you are out of school, usually the trucks are loaded for you. Go with them, do two years of OTR and get your experience then find a codriver and a small company and get making money girl. I wish you the best of luck in your driving career. ladytigger

Default no muscles needed

Sure you can drive a truck. There is a trucking job out there for everyone. The few times I've had to unload there was usually a handjack or forklift available and lifting 50 lbs was adequate. Scheider has a good program. Don't let em scare you, you can do it!
