Default Night Driving...

How are drivers scheduled with their time on the road? WHat I mean is, do you have a choice of driving at night or day? I prefer to drive at night, and I wondered if that is possible-is it up to the driver?

Default Well, that depends.....

Personally, I hate driving at night. I simply am a morning person and there's no way around it.

But there are times when you simply cannot avoid it. I've had plenty of pick ups and deliveries during the nighttime.

But as a general rule, I try to run daylight hours as much as possible.

Default You do the scheduling

Out on the road in your truck you determine when you will drive as long as it is within HOS regs. Also, needing to consider when the load is supposed to be delivered. But noone tells you when you can and cannot drive. As long as you make it to the customer to offload by your appt time then, day or night, as long as you make it there.

Default KEWL!

That is what I wanted to hear-LOL

Now...are most warehouses open 24 hours so that you are not sitting there for hours at a time waiting for someone to unload the freight?
