Hi, Liz, and welcome to Layover. I'm not a woman and just stumbled on your post since you're listed as a new poster.
Without knowing all of the millions of drivers personally, I'd have a rough time answering your question accurately, but I'd bet that there is more than one driver who drives after hip replacement.
On the road, I've seen people with all kinds of handicaps including a driver who used a wheelchair, an amputee and even a dwarf. I've met people (not drivers) who have had hip replacements and are active and fit, while others have given up and seemingly used it as a excuse to slack off and gain weight. Are you up to the physical demands of driving? Only you can answer that but long ago someone posted something (?) here about USxpress giving them a test to see whether they could climb in and out of a trailer and maneuver under it.
Really, if a person can operate the truck properly for long periods and passes the DOT physical, I see no reason why the hip replacement should be a problem. I would check with a few companies before I invested in driving school. BTW, the DOT physical is a joke and even the most unfit seem to pass it.
We wish you luck.
