A refrigerated trailer is called a reefer. The temperature on the refrigerated unit can be adjusted to keep the product cool or frozen during transport. Drivers need to know how to operate the refrigerated unit and monitor the temperature. Loading and unloading are often at large food warehouses and may require longer waits. Backing can be tight and the trailer may need to be perfectly squared off to provide a "seal" against the delivery door. Product in temperature-controlled trailers usually needs some extra care.
