In team driving, two people share the truck and the driving responsibilities. Teams usually haul time-sensitive freight, which means the truck is moving night and day. Teams can drive 20,000-plus miles a month with four or more weeks on the road before home time. The pay is good, but is only lucrative if it’s going into the same household, such as a husband-and-wife team. A team has to work well together, and be able to tolerate close quarters and running hard. Owner operator teams haul freight in their own truck.
