Student drivers are currently enrolled in a carrier-sponsored or private truck driving school. They participate in both class learning time and driving course time. If the requirements for both driving knowledge and driving skill are met, students graduate and obtain their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). They then move on to train over-the-road with a driver-trainer, either with the company that sponsored the school or the company they hired on with.
