Fort Dodge, Iowa - Decker Truck Line, Inc. is pleased to announce that Steve Leman was named January’s Flatbed Driver of the Month. Leman lives in West Bend IA with his wife, Angela, and their three children. His dispatcher, Rich Hiesterman said, “Steve has been a very dependable driver, always on time and works well with others.” When not on the road for Decker, Leman and his family enjoy their time together, especially camping during the warm months of the year.

Stan Deleeuw was the Van/Reefer Driver of the Month for January. Deleeuw lives in Rolfe, IA. He is the father of three children and became a grandfather for the first time in January. In his free time, Deleeuw enjoys volunteering in his hometown, Rolfe. He’s also an avid Green Bay Packers fan, NASCAR fan and a part time writer.

Joey O’Brion, Deleeuw’s dispatcher had this to say, “Stan is a great guy. Not only does he do a wonderful job, he really enjoys it. Like Stan says, ‘I cannot complain, I get paid for doing what I love.’ Stan understands the way the system works and never complains. He always makes the best of his trips. He is a real joy to work with.”

Jerry Bossart was honored as February’s Flatbed February Driver of the Month. He and his wife live in Springvalley, MN and have two grown children. They are also the proud grandparents of two. Bossart has been with Decker Truck Line for seven years. In his spare time, Bossart enjoys working on computers.

Robert Shurtleff was named February’s Van/Reefer Driver of the Month. Shurtleff joined Decker in August of 1993. He is married and has one son. When he’s not driving, Shurtleff’s hobbies are fishing, hunting and woodworking. He also enjoys working in his yard and with his flowers. Gary Northrop, his dispatcher explained, “Bob loves working for Decker Truck Line. He does a very good job for us.”

Congratulations to all Decker Drivers of the Month. Drivers and owner-operators are nominated monthly by their dispatcher. They are selected based on overall performance within all areas of the company, including operational productivity, safety record, maintenance/care of equipment (including idle time), payroll, billing and customer service. All drivers and owner-operators selected as a Driver of the Month are eligible to be chosen as Driver/Owner-operator of the Year.
