(Fort Dodge, Iowa) -- Decker Truck Line, Inc. has recognized a number of company drivers and owner-operators for their safety achievements during 2012.

J.F. Mayo of Hiawatha, KS was awarded the Flatbed Driver of the Year. Mayo has been employed with Decker since 2002 and earlier had been named Flatbed Driver of the month for October.

Glenn Griffith of Celeste, TX was awarded the Reefer Driver of the Year. Griffith has been employed since 2004 and earlier had been named Reefer Driver of the month for November.

Both of these drivers will receive an engraved plaque, a jacket and an additional 1-cent-per-mile pay increase for the next twelve months.Drivers of the Year are selected from each division's twelve Drivers of the Month. Drivers are nominated by their fleet managers based on overall performance within all areas of the company, including operational productivity, safety/compliance record, maintenance/care of equipment, payroll, billing and customer service. 

 Also announced were the names of over 100 company drivers and owner-operators who have received Safe Driving Awards. Eligibility requirements include having one year seniority, no preventable accidents/incidents, no lost time work injuries and completion of safety training. Award winners receive a gift certificate to a merchandise catalog. 

A select group of company drivers and owner-operators comprise the company's Million Mile Team whose members have attained one million or more verifiable safe driving miles in their total driving career.   

There are currently 74 members on the team with the addition of three members this year. Forty-nine drivers are at the one million mile level; eighteen are at two million miles; six are at three million miles and one driver has reached a total of four million miles. Team members receive a personalized decal for their tractor, a leather team jacket and a specially designed ring bearing the company logo.
