(Monroeville, AL) -- Mike Adkins, a driver with Hornady Transportation, recently participated in a Children's Miracle Network fundraiser held at the Randalman, N.C. Walmart.  The event, which included a truck & car wash, bake sale and yard sale, added more than $2,000 to the $35,000 raised during the week for the Duke Children's Hospital in Durham, NC.

Adkins says he wanted to participate in the charity event because the Walmart manager, Ted Gardner, has always allowed him to park his tractor trailer in that store's parking lot free of charge. Adkin's son Hunter, who was already participating in the event with his martial arts school, also encouraged the entire Adkins family to be a part of the fundraiser as well.

Adkins resides in Randalman, N. C. with his wife, Misty. he has been employed with Hornady for almost two years.
