KIRKLAND, Wash.- Kenworth Truck Company will showcase a Kenworth T370 diesel-electric hybrid utility truck at the ninth annual Hybrid Truck Users Forum [HTUF(TM)] October 27-29 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The national forum brings together fleets, suppliers and manufacturers to examine the latest in hybrid technology for the trucking industry.
 
The Kenworth T370 diesel-electric hybrid truck, equipped with an Altec utility body, will participate in the opening day hybrid and clean truck convoy through the streets of Atlanta from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, October 27.  The Kenworth hybrid also will participate in the HTUF Ride and Drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, October 29,  at Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves.
 
Kenworth offers Kenworth T270 Class 6 and T370 Class 7 diesel-electric hybrid trucks for utility, pickup and delivery, and service applications. Kenworth hybrid tractors, available up to 55,000-lb GCW, are for local haul applications, including beverage, general freight, and grocery distribution. Kenworth's goal is to enhance fuel economy by up to 30 percent in both pickup and delivery and hybrid tractor applications and up to 50 percent in utility operations. Purchasers of Kenworth hybrid trucks may qualify for a federal tax credit ranging from $6,000 to $12,000.
