THOMASVILLE, North Carolina – Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. will be featured in the pilot episode of Move It!, a new web-based series that gives viewers an all-access tour of U.S. logistics businesses and organizations.
Move It!, which debuts Feb. 6, will take viewers inside the operations of leading companies and introduce them to the people, cutting-edge technologies and surprising strategies that help keep home and work life convenient, safe and running smoothly.
Old Dominion’s new service center in Canton, Ohio, which earned the company’s first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, will be highlighted in the first Move It! episode. The 70-door facility was constructed with sustainable materials and employed energy efficiency and water savings measures.
“We’re always looking for the opportunity to showcase Old Dominion in new and interesting ways, and Move It! gave us that opportunity,” said Chip Overbey, chief strategy officer at Old Dominion. “We appreciate the opportunity to participate in the pilot episode, and we are glad we could help provide viewers with a chance to learn more about the logistics industry.”
Longtime television personality Steve Thomas, formerly of PBS’s “This Old House,” is the host of Move It!, and David Maloney, senior editor of DC Velocity, will co-produce the show. Collectively, both serve as executive producers.
An exclusive, invitation-only premiere of the pilot is set for 4 p.m. EST on Feb. 6 during MODEX, a new logistics, material handling and supply chain conference and trade show at the Georgia Worlds Congress Center in Atlanta. The pilot will air worldwide at 6 p.m. EST on Feb. 6 at www.MoveItShow.com.
