Reading, PA,  – Today, Penske Truck Rental, a service of Penske Truck Leasing, announced it was awarded the General Services Administration (GSA) Transportation, Delivery and Relocation Solution Schedule 48 contract and is now an approved vendor for truck rentals. The GSA is the central procurement and property management agency for the federal government.

Penske's contract award is a direct result of a complex GSA screening process that evaluated its professional capabilities, organizational structure, performance, and other criteria. As a result, Penske was deemed qualified by the GSA to perform work directly for government entities.

In a related matter, Penske has also earned the opportunity to participate in GSA’s RSVP Short-Term Vehicle Rental Services Program enabling it to directly contract with federal agencies and also serve as a part of GSA’s supplemental vehicle fleet on an as-needed basis.

Penske’s commercial truck rental fleet includes more than 55,000 vehicles consisting of vans, light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty straight trucks, tractors, trailers, and specialized vehicles such as refrigerated trucks and utility bucket trucks, available from convenient locations nationwide.
