Vorderbruggen was working in Wilcox, Arizona when he happened upon a critical accident on the highway.
Faced with a serious situation in which those hurt in the accident were unable to get the prompt and full treatment they needed, Vorderbruggen stopped to assist the understaffed EMTs at roadside.
After helping suctioning and performing CPR on the most badly-injured participant, Vorderbruggen followed the victims to the hospital and continued to help the staff there. Medics say his assistance was vital in their effort.
