Cudahy, Wisconsin - Glenn Keller, a contractor for Roadrunner Transportation Services, has been chosen by CNN for its 2012 Fit Nation Triathlon Challenge team.

Keller, a 51-year-old trucker who estimates that he is 100 pounds overweight, will begin training from now until September in order to compete alongside Dr. Sanjay Gupta and six teammates at the 2012 Nautica Malibu Triathlon.

As part of the team, Keller will begin blogging, tweeting and sharing his workouts and weight loss progress as he trains for the triathlon, which involves swimming a half mile in the Pacific Ocean, biking 18 miles, and running four miles. Keller, the only truck driver, will compete with three men and three women, who are all new to the sport of triathlon.

This is the third year CNN has hosted the challenge. The network selected viewers based on 3-minute videos each had to submit in December of 2011. Keller says his winning entry was filmed and submitted just four hours before the contest deadline. "I was on my way back to Texas and didn't have a webcam. I pulled off the interstate, went into a Walmart and bought what I figured would be my last bucket of chicken wings and a webcam," he said. "I sat there in the seat of my truck and just tried to speak from my heart."

Keller has worked as a contractor with Roadrunner Transportation since April, 2011 and also heads up a prayer ministry from the cab of his 2007 Freightliner Columbia. He explains that he entered the contest because he felt like a hypocrite. "I tell fellow worshipers that it's possible to overcome any obstacle, but I've not been able to overcome my weight," Keller said.

CNN will equip each of the seven team members with a road bike, a wet suit, nutrition coaching, and a gym membership to help them prepare for the races.
