(Deerfield, Ill.) – Members of the trucking industry continue to develop their commitment to fuel efficiency with resources from Terra Environmental Technologies (TET), a CF Industries Company, and its TerraCair® Ultrapure Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) product. Leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), truck stops, owner operators and fleets all choose TET because the organization maintains product quality from production to the truck’s tank and for its commitment to service and reliability. These companies include Daimler Trucks North American LLC; Volvo Group North America, Inc.; Mack Trucks, Inc.; Ford Motor Company; Iowa 80 TravelCenters of America Truck Stop; and Marten Transport, LTD.
“We’re dedicated to providing our customers with a quality supply of DEF from a reliable source they can trust,” said Barry Lonsdale, TET president. “No other DEF supplier produces more DEF in North America than CF Industries. TET has the broadest production from multiple plants, strategically located to produce and supply DEF.”
In the past two years, truck producers have sold more than 325,250 Class 8 vehicles in the United States and truck manufacturers reported a 52.9 percent growth in January 2012 alone, compared to the previous year.* This increase in trucks sold emphasizes the need to meet fuel efficiency standards and regulations. In this rapidly expanding market, other DEF brands, unlike TET, do not have their own urea production and therefore find it necessary to involve third parties in the supply chain process, which increases the contamination risk.
“With TerraCair, the DEF quality is assured, since bulk delivery to the distribution points is done in dedicated tank trucks especially equipped for TerraCair,” said Lonsdale. “Our engineering team looks for DEF-compliant equipment and dispensing solutions to assure TerraCair remains ultra pure.”
Recently, Marten Transport, LTD., a premier North American supplier of time and temperature sensitive transportation services, signed an exclusive agreement with TET to supply all its DEF needs. This multi-year agreement will ensure that TET’s TerraCair is available to Marten Transport and its fleet of SCR-equipped vehicles.
“Marten Transport customers have demanding delivery deadlines, so our trucks and equipment must reliably perform day in and day out. We chose TET and TerraCair because they showed a commitment to help us reliably meet those deadlines,” said Chuck Remington, corporate maintenance director for Marten. “TET and their distributor, Brenntag, identified several storage tank challenges and would not off-load the DEF until the storage tank met the standard. Their attention to detail and quality specific to DEF delivery was impressive and let me know that we can rely on them, their process and TerraCair.”
TET, a CF Industries company, serves the mobile market customer. This includes all businesses involved in supplying diesel exhaust fluid to consumers who use it to reduce harmful emissions from the exhaust stream of diesel engines. TET’s product, TerraCair, is sold through original equipment manufacturers, truckstops, automotive fluid distributors, and a variety of retail outlets. TET was incorporated in 2007, and has access to the full range of CF Industries Inc.’s services. For more information about Terra Environmental Technologies, please visit www.TerraCairDEF.com.
