ATHENS, Ga., Carrier Transicold has enhanced its transport refrigeration unit RoadCare contract maintenance programs with a new Web-enabled asset management tool called ViewPoint®. Carrier Transicold is part of Carrier Corp., a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

ViewPoint enterprise asset management software improves Comprehensive Maintenance and Repair Agreements (CMRA) by helping dealers and customers with tracking, managing and planning preventive maintenance, warranty service and other equipment service needs. CMRAs help Carrier support its expanding customer base in the truck, trailer and rail/intermodal markets by transferring fleet service requirements scheduled and unscheduled to Carrier's highly qualified dealer network.

"CMRAs have always been good for customers, because they let them focus on their core business rather than maintenance," said Joe Hock, Carrier's national service manager. "ViewPoint software is a sophisticated tool that can help customers increase their uptime and predict maintenance costs, while giving them unparalleled access to information about their fleets. It also helps our dealers optimize customer service for maximum asset utilization."

Carrier dealers use ViewPoint software to determine exactly what preventive and predictive maintenance is needed to ensure peak performance and maximum life of customer equipment. ViewPoint software's business intelligence capabilities provide customers access to information about all units in their fleets.

With ViewPoint, customers receive the following CMRA program enhancements:

Notification of maintenance due, via email or ViewPoint inbox
           Online scheduling services
Work order generation for non-emergency repairs
Online view of unit maintenance and repair history
           Custom report generation
Quick and easy identification of problem units
           Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

KPIs provide an overview of a fleet¹s current maintenance status, including information about open and scheduled orders, percent of units that are due for maintenance, units overdue for maintenance and customer-defined metrics.
